About

In 1980 Jim Sanford bought a beer license from Lower Bucks and brought it to Quakertown looking for the perfect place for the beer distributor. He found an empty toy store in the Quaker Village shopping center by the name of Toy City. To save money he replaced the “toy” on the outside sign with beer, hence the name Beer City. Looking to retire he then sold the business in 1996 to the current owners Bert and Sara Jones of Quakertown. It was Bert’s ambition to operate and own a successful beer distributor with the help of his family and his employees. He has made Beer City one of the most successful Beer Stores in Bucks County.
